Bunratty Castle and the Cliffs of Moher with Dave Hogan Chauffeurdriven Tours of the West of Ireland

Kathleen and Clare stayed here in Bunratty last evening as it was close to the Bruce Springsteen concert venue. Here you see the renowned castle with the popular Durty Nelly's pub in the foreground. The Bunratty Villa B&B is just down the road from this castle and is an ideal place to stay if you wish to visit the castle and grounds, or to attend the medieval banquets that are held here in the castle. Durty Nelly's is also a great place to have a drink or a nice meal.

This is Bunratty Villa, and definitely one of the nicest and friendliest B&B's that you can find anywhere. Make sure that you tell Phil and her daughter Jackie that Dave sent you. They are lovely people.

What a lovely place to enjoy an Irish breakfast in the fresh air surrounded by beautiful countryside. This was exactly what Clare did this morning.

This is St Brigid's well, which is located very near to the Cliffs of Moher on the Liscannor side. St Brigid is the patroness of Ireland. Many people visit here with their special petitions for their sick or deceased family and friends, or just for their own special requests.The well is reached through the open doorway in this picture and inside here you will see all of the petitions hanging on the walls of the cavelike interior.

What a gorgeous day it was again today. It was very warm, by Irish standards, and there was a heat haze over the sea here at the Cliffs.

In recent years a new visitor centre was built into the Cliffs, and here you can see the entrance to the concealed centre.

We stopped on the Corkscrew Hill at this wonderful viewing area. Here we have Clare, with the limestone mountains of the Burren and Galway Bay in the background. Another lovely picture.

This day could not have been better as we were blessed with beautiful sunshine all day. There is no place like Ireland when the sun shines, but then there is no place like Ireland anyway.
