Chauffeurdriven tours in Ireland West and North West

Markree Castle in Sligo where we stayed last night, and where we will be again tonight.
Today we spent around Sligo, and the surrounding area. The day was really beautiful and we visited some really interesting places, as you can see from my pictures.

This Holy Well at Tobernalt was the scene of a mass rock where mass was celebrated in secrecy during the penal times in Ireland, when this was forbidden, If a priest was caught saying mass he would be beheaded.

Here you see the old mass rock which was used as an altar. In the background you can see the new shrine wth an altar and a scene of the crucifixion.
