Chuck and Geraldine arrived in Shannon early this morning, where i collected them and brought them to the magnificent Adare Manor, where they are staying tonight. Here you see them, posing bravely for me outside the manor shortly after arriving. It had been a long day, and night, for them, and, after a lovely breakfast, i left them to rest up and relax in Adare for the rest of today. Tomorrow is another day as we begin our journey onwards to Killarney.
One of the many lovely lounges in this fine castle. Adare is one of Ireland's leading castle hotels and has a wonderful history. You can follow all of that on Google.
The historic Fitzgerald Castle which stands on the opposite side of the river Maigue which borders the estate. There are daily tours of this castle.which i would recommend highly.
Adare is an ideal destination for anybody seeking a real castle experience and the facilities here are perfect for a relaxing vacation in a beautiful area. The little town of Adare is renowned for its beauty with its thatched cottages and the wonderful old Trinitarian Abbey in the centre of the town. There are lovely craft shops and great restaurants and pubs, and of course the Adare Manor Golf course is right on your doorstep.
The weather today was really nice with plenty of sunshine and healthy fresh Springtime air. Tomorrow looks fine also, as does the rest of the week to come. Will the sun shine in Ireland for St Patrick? Stay with us and see for yourself.
