This morning my party departed from BunrattyVilla, a lovely B&B close to the magnificent Bunratty castle, where they had attended the banquet last evening.
Bunratty Villa is located close to the castle, and is a wonderful location if you wish to attend the banquet in the castle, and are flying out from Shannon airport the following morning as it is just a short fifteen minute drive to the airport. It is also a really lovely B&B and Phil and Jackie and Julie will look after you well.
Today was golf day for the men, and here we have the group pictured together at Killarney golf club.
From the left we have
Ryan, Pat, Katie, Dale, Melody, Betsy, and Buddy, with Mary Clair and Bradford in the front row.
The two Dave's had to get in on the act somewhere, and here we are with me on the left, and our driver Dave on the right. What a beautiful picture, even the scenery is nice.
Melody, Pat, Betsy, Katie, with Maryclair in the front row, pictured in the Killarney Plaza after we arrived there. This is a really nice hotel and one i would highly recommend if you are planning a visit to Killarney. The location right in the heart of the town could not be better.
Of course everybody was hungry after arriving in Killarney, and here we have the ladies enjoying a lunch together in the grill bar in the Plaza.
This afternoon we visited Muckross House and the Muckross house farms. Here they are, on the farm bus and ready to begin their tour. This is a real treat. The stately home is located on a wonderful estate and the farmhouse tour is a visit to the four recreated old farmhouses, where you can enjoy learning all about how life was in these rural areas not too long ago. The kids loved all of the farm animals, as you can see from the pictures below. Muckoss is also famous as Queen Victoria stayed here during her visit to Ireland in the eighteen hundreds.
Katie enjoyed this little donkey, who was tethered outside on of the farmhouses.
The farmer in the medium sized farmhouse was milking the cow when we stopped off there.
Melody and her Mom pictured in the doorway of the labourer's cottage.
Everybody just loved the magnificent Irish Wolfhounds
Katie, pictured here with this huge Clydesdale.
These two border collies were just mad to play around.
One of the farm ladies, working the milk seperator, the skimmed milk going one way and the cream the other. What a fantastic invention this was.
There is also an old school house on the estate, and here we have Melody and Maryclair, with Katie in the front row.
The schoolmaster, explaining how his class operates. The notice in Irish says, "Praise the children and they will follow your example".
Muckross House.
The wonderful gardens, with a balze of colour as the rhododendrons are in full bloom.
All the ladies sitting enjoying the lovely sunshine at Muckross. From the left we have, Betsy Maryclair, Katie, Melody and Pat.
