The Dingle peninsula in Co Kerry (in the sun)

My name is Dave Hogan and I would like to welcome you to my Blog. I am a specialised tour operator in the Republic of Ireland, and also a new blogger, so you will have to bear with me while i learn how to become more efficient at this. My web-site will give you a lot more information about my service and explain exactly what i do and how i operate. I hope to use my blog to keep my friends up to date on all that is happening with my business and also to provide whatever assistance i can to prospective visitors who may or may not decide that my service is the one they would like to avail of.
The picture i have posted here is one of Bob and Roxanne Donnelly from New York. This lovely couple toured with me in the Summer of 2007. There is a lovely letter of appreciation from Bob on my web-site. My wife and i later spent a wonderful holiday with them in New York and they are now very special friends.
I would love to keep my friends, old and new, up to date on what is happening here for me and my business in Ireland and keep them posted on any developments and special ideas or offers i may come up with.
I will also welcome enquiries and contributions of interest from anybody wishing to write to me.
I would also like to add that my hobbies include music and writing. I both sing and play the keyboard and i also write poetry and i have produced a CD of mainly Irish songs with a few of my own poems. The purpose of this CD is to raise funds for a very special charity, St Anne's school for little children from the townships in Port Elizabeth in South Africa. This school was founded by my first cousin,Peter Mulligan, and his wonderful wife, Gloria, and they presently have over 100 children between the ages of three and six in their school. You can listen to a couple of samples from this CD on my web-site and if you would like to support this charity then you can write to me and i can tell you what you need to do. I will have a suggested minimum donation and all donations will be most welcome. If anybody would like to contribute directly to the school in Port Elizabeth i will gladly provide an address for them if they write to me.There has been a great response from all my friends in the USA for my CD and indeed Louis Glunz BeerInc, Merchants of Fine Beers in Chicago, used my CD for the promotion of one of their products, and this was a wonderful help. They also made a most generous contribution and i am most grateful for their support. I circulated many of the wonderful friends i have made in my touring business in the USA and the support from them was most heart-warming.
I look forward to making many new friends in the year ahead and despite the downturn in our economies i continue to receive many enquiries from potential customers. Most of my clients would have an Irish connection of some form or other but i do get many people who just come to Ireland because everybody knows that there is something very special about this place and its friendly welcoming people.
Maybe you will choose to be one of those.

  1. I love navigating my way around this new site of yours Dave.

  2. I can not believe that it is almost five years since our enchanted and magical two weeks with you. There isn't a month that goes by when Barbara and I haven't spoken about you and Sue with great fondness. We left Ireland feeling that we had increased the size of our family as you became a member within the first ten minutes of our meeting at Shannon airport. Unlike many other trips we have taken, Ireland keeps calling us to return .... and we shall, as long as you are there to greet usI

  3. Well...it is nice to wake up on a Saturday morning here in Ireland to 2 lovely messages like those from Rita and Aaron. These are the first messages to appear on my new blog and it is fitting that they are from past customers who are now dear friends. I look forward to hearing from many more of my wonderful friends in the USA, and elsewhere, and will do my best to keep posting new messages of interest here as time goes by. I have a feeling that this is going to become more and more time consuming, but also most rewarding.
Thank you Rita....thank you Aaron and Barbara....have a lovely weekend.

  4. A new week and another post.

How does one talk about all I've seen and done in Ireland? I treasure every tour and have seen so much, people tell me I should do a travelogue...........

I am giving a talk to the Waterford (WI) Professional Women's Club on traveling alone as a woman.

My travels to Ireland have the most merit. I will stress how I have a chauffeur in Ireland who makes my travels so easy and friendly.
