Driver in Killarney

Once again i am drawing near to the end of another succesfull tour and this morning, as i look out my hotel window in Killarney, i could have wished for better weather. Our journey today takes us back over the Shannon river into county Clare. The Cliffs of Moher are on the agenda and it is not the best of days for that. Sometimes, if there is a heavy mist, you cannot see the cliffs at all so i live in hope that this will not be the case today. Galway is our final destination and that place will be buzzing as we are now about to enter into the week of the year there. This is Galway Race Week and there is no place like it during this coming week. The town will be alive from dawn to dawn. The town center will be packed with tourists and race-goers and the street entertainers will be there in their droves. The pubs and restaurants will be cramming them in and there will be no sign of a recession. People will once again be throwing their money about as though the Celtic Tiger has risen from the dead and there will be no thought of tomorrow. Galway Races does that to you. Seven days of top-class racing starting on Monday evening. There will be millions gambled by punters over the coming days and many dreams will dissipate into the Galway skies as the Bookies rub their hands with glee. It is a great week though and there will be great enjoyment and not everybody will be spending thier money in pursuit of the "big win".
I like a small bet myself but i am in no doubt as to who comes out on top when i take on the bookies. Come and enjoy yourself and maybe i will see you there.
