Today the ladies were thrilled with their trip through the Gap of Dunlo in Killarney. This started out with a bus ride to Kate Kearney's Cottage at the entrance to the Gap where they boarded their horse drawn carriage. The road through the mountains is narrow and winding and the climb up to the top is spectacular. The views from there are just breath-taking and the descent to the lake on the far side is just unforgetable. Then the final leg takes you on a boat ride back down through the lakes of Killarney to Ross castle. They were just overcome by the experience and this has just been another memorable day for them.
The weather today was lovely once again. It did start out damp but the sun broke through early and shone all day long.Tomorrow we journey to the Dingle peninsula and this once again will be a day for them to remember.
This trip to the Gap is a must but do not attempt to drive it yourself as the roads are extremely narrow and dangerous with many twisting and winding bends and sheer drops down to the valley below. The narrow roads make passing anything coming towards you extremely difficult so beware. Go with the experts and stay safe. The boat ride is a must also and you cannot do that if you drive yourself as you would have to go back again to get your car.
All is well with my tour and i will report in again tomorrow from lovely Killarney.
