Guess who?
Yes, it is me. This photo was taken at Ladies View on the Ring of Kerry. None of my Leprechaun pals were there at the time but maybe you will be luckier when you get there. It was from this vantage point high up on the mountain road overlooking the lakes of Killarney that Queen Victoria declared this, the most beautiful view in the Kingdom. Recently somebody told me that they were advised not to travel the Ring of Kerry or the Dingle peninsula as there were always terrible delays on these routes. It must be a long time since they were here as that is totally untrue. In recent years the roads have been widened and most of the narrow bends have been removed so do not let these rumours prevent you from enjoying some of Ireland's most magnificent scenery. Just remember when you travel the Ring of Kerry that you journey anti-clockwise as this is the direction all the large trucks and buses go in. Then you do not meet any of them head-on. There is also a rumour that Blarney is not worth going to either as it is always too crowded and that it is not advisable to kiss the Blarney stone as spoil-sports pee on it. Again a load of rubbish as it is always attended during the day and the place is locked up at night and nobody can get near it. Who starts these stupid rumours? Just people with nothing better to do than try to spoil other people's holidays. If you have any concerns or queries about anything please feel free to ask me about them.
The sunshine arrives tomorrow and already this evening it is looking up. I have another tour starting next week and lets hope that they get some of this lovely weather. I think that they will.
One other thing that is bothering me......that concerns Ryanair. I will write more about them later but right now just let me say this much......i always use Ryanair if i have the option. They are the big success in the airline business....maybe that is why they have so many enemies. More later.
Comments welcome.

Hope you had a wonderful Easter, Dave.
ReplyDeleteMine was busy with eating lots of food and then the Easter Egg hunt. The grandchildren found all 69 of them !!
The hasn't been too bad over there. I do have Kinvara on my yahoo weather. Right now we are in a rainy stretch. We do need the rain though. The frost is all out of the ground and the rain in needed.

The Ring of Kerry is a tourist trail in south-western Ireland. The place is so wonderful and the beach view is so magnificent. The ladies view is a terrific place to see. It covers all the area and provides an amazing sightseeing.
ReplyDeleteThanks you for your comment Romantic B&B. I had a look at your web-site and your holidays do look lovely. Pity you are so far away. Maybe i will get down your way sometime.
