Memorial to the famine victims buried in the grounds of Killarney Cathedral

As you can see i am back in action as i managed to get my Blog sorted out again. The above picture of the memorial to the famine victims can be seen in the grounds of the Killarney Cathedral. The foundations of this beautiful church were laid before the famine began in 1845 and many starving people came here to die on what was consecrated ground. They were buried here and the church is a fitting memorial to these unfortunates. The word GORTA, which you can see on the front of the memorial, is the Irish word for famine.
Our weather today is a mixture of showers and sunshine but it is nice and neither hot nor cold. I am busy dealing with enquiries and lots of other unfinished business that accumulates while i am touring but i will be Blogging as often as possible between now and my next tour. Comments or questions are always welcome.

Dave
