Tim and Kerry on hillside overlooking Kinsale harbour
Our Irish weather comes in for an awful lot of unfair criticism especially from the Irish themselves.I suppose it is only natural then that our visitors expect rain all the time when they are coming here. Yes we do get our fair share of rain but we also get a great deal of fine weather and here once again you can see that in this photo taken yesterday before we left Kinsale. Ireland is a beautiful country and famous for its greenery. Thank God for the moisture that keeps our country green. Touring is my business and my business does not depend on never-ending sunshine. I have never had a tour that was cancelled or severely damaged by rain. There have been wet days but there have been many more fine days that bad days. A typical Irish day would bring a mixture of sunshine and showers. We rarely get the extremes. Compared to many countries our high temperatures and our low temperatures look mild. Give me Irish weather anytime compared to those countries where you have to endure terrible heat or cold. This Summer has been really nice and there is no reason to believe that it will not continue.
My present party are departing this morning and they have been a joy to be with. I hope that they know just how much i enjoyed their company for the last few days and that they can find the time someday to come back and take up where we left off. There is a lot more to see and i would be more than pleased and honoured to be the one to show that to them.
As we say in Ireland.........God speed.
