The sunrise seen through the main entrance to Adare Manor. Adare is a beautiful town and Adare manor is now a wonderful five star hotel.
There is very little remaining of the old city walls which enclosed Galway city. Here we see the famous Spanish Arch which was an entrance gate to the city. Just inside this gate was an open market area which was known as the Spanish Parade. Galway had strong trade links with Spain and many Spanish sailors could be found in this area as their ships would be docked along the river and harbour areas, which are close by.
A long range shot of the beautiful Ashford castle.
