Travelling to Ireland and looking for chauffeur/car and driver?

The monument which was erected beside the Corrib river near the Spanish Arch in Galway city to commemorate the visit of Christopher Colombus to Galway before the Sancta Maria departed in their search for the New World. Galway became a very important port of call for ships sailing westwards as it was ideal for taking on board final provisions for these long voyages. A special mass was celebrated in St Nicholas's church in the city centre for Columbus and his crewmen before they departed on their historic voyage. St Nicholas's church is the oldest remaining building in Galway city and is still functioning as a Church of Ireland church as it was taken over from the Catholics many years ago. It is a special place to visit if you happen to be in Galway.

It looks like Ireland will be a very popular destination for a lot of Americans and others travelling to Western Europe this year, especially to the Olympic games. Already i am getting enquiries from people who are coming this way with partners who are Olympic minded, while they themselves are not, and they will spend time here while their other half goes to the games. Personally i think i would prefer coming to Ireland instead of the games as i just would not have the tolerance to face the airport hold-ups and the huge number of people that the games will have to cater for. Give me Ireland anytime, and the highlights of the games on telly.
Aside from the games there is great interest in Ireland and indeed a growing interest as our tourist figures continue to increase. This is still a wonderful place to visit and even at the height of the season in July and August the rural areas are never too crowded or uncomfortable. If you are driving yourself in the high season then it will be more difficult so do take care. But then you can have me.
