Chauffeur Driven Vacations Ireland West June 2012

My latest post covers from Sunday after we left Cork behind on our way to Druid's Glen in Wicklow. My party had managed to find a Dog Race Meeting at the Cork Dog track last night and really enjoyed it. Today they expressed a wish to attend some kind of a match, any kind at all, as they just wanted to see a bit of Irish sport before their tour ended. There happened to be a Hurling match, a unique Irish game played with a hurling stick and a leather ball, so we had to change our route to get to Portlaoise where the game was being played. This meant going to The Rock of Cashel (pictured above), where they spent some time enjoying this historic site, and then on to Holy Cross, where we attended the Sunday mass in this church, renowned for being the keepers of two crosses containing tiny portions of the original cross of the crucifixion. This they really enjoyed.

Yesterday i finally parted with my group in Dublin after what for me was a lovely tour. It was my first tour with customers from that side of the world and i feel that i learned quiet a lot from their visit. There is no doubt that our conditions here are different from theirs, mainly the food and the temperatures, and of course our Irish way of life. I hope that they allowed for the differences and maybe learned a lot also. They would always be welcome back again.

I must mention the wonderful lady who arranged this tour for us, Cecil from Miles Plus More Travel Co Inc, in Manila. She was so efficient, and a wonderful lady to deal with, and if there is anybody in that region who needs a competent Travel Agent then i would not hesitate in recommending Cecil.
Thank you sincerely Cecil for all that you did.
