Chauffeurdriven vacations in the West of Ireland

Today was our day on the Ring of Kerry, and what a pleasant surprise we got when our weather forecast turned out to be all wrong. What a difference a day makes. The photos above shows the Gap of Dunloe in the Kerry mountains as we set out this morning beneath slightly overcast skies. That was to change, as you will see from some of my photos below.

The top photo shows Ed and Marianne gazing out over Dingle Bay from the Ring of Kerry side, and just above, Ed and Marianne, Terry and Al, all looking much happier in the lovely sunshine.

Terry, standing at the edge of the Atlantic ocean in Waterville. I told her that Florida was straight across the ocean from where we were and she was trying to catch a glimpse of it. No luck however.

Here we have all hands on deck as we dragged Terry away.

Now, Terry's day was made as she found a nest of pets to play with at Coomakista at the head of this Iveragh peninsula.

Here we have a close-up of Terrys new pals. Who could blame her for being all excited....they were gorgeous. From the left we have, a German shepherd pup (four months old) , three little kittens, a baby doe (a real Irish red deer) and a Jack Russel (the Mammy of the group, 12 years old).

Here we have a view of the Gap of Dunloe from the opposite side of the mountains. I took this photo from Mol's Gap at the  the mountain pass with the Black valley down below.

What a lovely picture this is, but not surprising considering who took it. My lovely group sitting on the mountainside with the wonderful lakes of Killarney below. This is where Queen Victoria stood and proclaimed it to be "The most beautiful view in the Kingdom." Could you argue with that?

That's it for today. Once again a memorable day with a really nice fun group of people. It really does make my job easy. Well, you know the story, " If you're Irish ........etc, etc", and most of them are, and those who are not, will have been adopted before they go back home.
