St Patrick's Day in Killarney with own car and driver

What a great way to start your day. This was Rita's birthday today and the chef in our hotel, the Killarney Plaza, presented her with a plate of green and chocolate, chocolate strawberries. Note the lovely necklace of green shamrocks which Rita made herself

The lovely Marina Cassiddy was once again singing this morning at our mass in St Mary's Cathedral in Killarney. I am not sure if this video is going to work for you, but, if it does, you are in for a treat as Marina sings "Hail Glorious St Patrick".

Nancy and Rita in the grounds of St Mary's at the memorial to the famine victims who died and were buried here on this site during the famine.

Let the Parade begin.
A pipe band from Cork at the head of the Parade in Killarney.

Our cousins from the USA were their in style.

A float from a local pet farm with their pet lambs etc.

Another colorful pipe band.

He might not be an Irish Wolfhound,  but then we all all nationalities to join in our celebrations.

A rare Vintage car, a Parisienne i believe. Never heard of it before.

I have seen these before OK.

Not this one though.

I believe the Mayor was in this one. What's wrong with his tractor?

The circus was there, with Barney.

and the children, in their hundreds.

What a great day this was in this special town.

Tonight we capped it off with a lovely meal in Casita Mexicana in Killarney town. This is a really nice Mexican restaurant and if you tell John and Eve that you know me then it will not do you any harm. They cater here for non-Mexican foodies also so do not feel left out if you are not into spicy food. Rita had a lovely fillet steak and Nancy had the lamb cutlets. Somebody had to have Mexican, so i had my Fajitas. Mmmmm.
This little chocolate selection was Rita's birthday treat from Eve and John at Casita.
