The Gap of Dunloe tour was the main event today and this wonderful journey up and over the Kerry mountains in the old jaunting car, is one to remember.
Here we are, all set to go, and it looks like Sean is taking charge of the horse.
This road was once upon a time, the main road from Killarney to Kenmare on the other side of the mountains. Now it only serves the farmers who live in the valleys, and the tourists who come to enjoy this special place. This Gap was formed by a giant glacier as it tore its way through the earth during the ice age.
The jaunting cars take you over the mountains, and down to the lakes of Killarney on the other side, where you can take a boat, down through the lakes of Killarney, and back to Killarney town at Ross castle on the lake shore.
All aboard
