The Cliffs of Moher and the Burren on chauffeurdriven tour /vacation with Dave Hogan and Dovechauffeurdrive

Today, Sunday, was to be our day in the Burren of County Clare, and a visit to the awesome Cliffs of Moher. Unfortunately the weather was not ideal for this trip, but my brave companions were undaunted, and the trip went ahead. When you are eight hundred feet above the Atlantic, on a day like today, you need to be brave but they met the challenge, and as it turned out, had a great day, and plenty to laugh at. The first stop was Corcomroe Abbey in the Burren, and the picture above was taken inside this historic place, which dates back to the twelve hundreds.
The Burren region, an area covering some three hundred square miles, is a limestone mountain range, which was once upon a time the ocean floor. Looking at the picture above, it is hard to believe that my friends are actually standing on what was the ocean floor.
This was an area populated by ancient tribes, and here we have my pals, with the renowned Poulnabrone Dolmen, an ancient burial mound, in the background. This tomb dates back thousands of years.
After spending a couple of hours out in the hard weather , it was time to have a break, and here we are in Gus O'Connor's pub in Doolin, enjoying some warm food before moving on to the day's biggest challenge, the Cliffs of Moher.
I think that this picture says it all as my group look more like a polar expedition that a group of tourists enjoying their Irish vacation. But enjoy it they did, and it says a lot for brave companions.
Just look at all of them smiling faces., even Dave, on the right, who seems to have lost his head gear.
Tomorrow we move on to the south, and the town of Killarney and lets hope that the weather is a little better. The forecast appears to suggest that, so we are keeping our fingers crossed.

If you need to contact me just send me a message and i will do the rest.
