Today, Saturday, our destination was the wonderful Dingle Peninsula. We were blessed with glorious sunshine which made this a very special day.
Our first stop was at the beach at Inch and here we have , from the left,Andrew, Christine, Eliza and Alex, with the spectacular views of the ocean and hills as a background. The mountains in the distance are on the Iveragh peninsula, better known as the Ring of Kerry. This is a wonderful beach for surfing, which is becoming more and more popular for surfing as here we have some of the highest waves recorded worldwide.
At long last, Eliza's dream comes true, as she cuddles her baby lamb. She would have gladly brought him home, but unfortunately it was just not practical.
Now Christine joined in the fun, as the two ladies posed for this lovely picture.
That looks like a heavy one that Andrew is holding.
Alex seems to be getting on fine with his baby.
A nice picture of Eliza and Alex, with the lovely beach in the background.
The Blasket Islands, at Slea Head, at the most westerly point on this peninsula, are now deserted. Most of the inhabitants emigrated to Springfield Mass. and joined their relatives, who had gone before them in previous years. This is a beautiful region, and well worth a visit.
