Silvasy Gap of Dunloe and Killarney June July 2018

Today they were off to the Gap of Dunloe on the horse drawn jaunting cars. Once again, it was a really beautiful day, as the heatwave continues here.
This journey is quiet spectacular, on a narrow winding road, through a mountain gorge, which was carved through these mountains by a gigantic glacier during the ice-age.
The second part of the journey is on the water, in open boats, which then take you down through the lakes of Killarney, all the way back to Ross castle on the shores of lough Laune.
Finally approaching the famous Ross Castle, a restored Norman Tower castle.
Safe, and happy to be back, as they reach dry land once again.
All together for this picture, with the castle in the background. From the left we have, Lauren, Anne-Marie, Anne-Marie Snr, Jack, Jeff, Erin and Kristen.
Ladies View, high in the Kerry mountains, overlooking the lakes below. This was described by Queen Victoria as the "Most beautiful view in the Kingdom" , and is something not to be missed ,and here we have Jeff, sitting on a roc,k and waiting to capture this magnificent scene with his drone.
Now the full party at the same place, from the left, Lauren, Kristen, Jeff, Jack, Anne-Marie Snr, Anne-Marie Jnr, and Erin.
Muckross House and gardens, are just on the outskirts of Killarney, and are a "must visit" when you are in Killarney. It was here that Queen Victoria had a short stay, during her visit to Killarney, a visit shortened by a sudden health problem for her husband Albert.
You can take the farmhouse tour while at Muckross, a tour of four old restored farmhouses, which shows you what life was like for these country people not too long ago.
You can also enjoy all of the farm animals there, and here i am myself, pictured with these gorgeous Clydesdale working horses.
The gardens at Muckross are special and were prepared especially for Queen Victoria.
Another fine specimen of farm life, the sow.

Yes, this is a special tour, and one all of the family can enjoy.
