On Monday we left Kinvara on our way to Killarney.

On Monday morning we left Kinvara as we began our journey to the south of the country as we continued our tour on the Wild Atlantic Way. Adare was our first stop as we began our journey to the town of Killarney. All pictured together, in the doorway of the beautiful Trinitarian Abbey church in Adare. This church dates back to the twelve hundreds

Pictured here inside the church, all in good fettle after some shopping before visiting here. Barbara really looks well pleased with her new bag, beautifully decorated with sheep.
The light was poor when i took this picture outside the Abbey.
On reaching Killarney, and their hotel, The Killarney Plaza, we all decided to have a snack in the hotel grill bar.The food was delicious, and the portions were quiet large for the price. I had a lovely garlic chicken and salad mix on a large slice of brown bread, same as Dean, and that is my plate nearest to the camera.  It was really delicious.

Once they were all fed, they were ready to go again, and off we went to Muckross house, the stately home where Queen Victoria stayed during her visit to Killarney. Here in the picture you can see the front of this fine house.

The lawns stretch from the house right down to the shores of the Killarney lakes. What a wonderful setting for a home.
There is no stopping this group, as later in the evening we were off to the wonderful Celtic Steps Irish music and dance show at the Killarney racecourse.
After the show, they lined out with some of the shows stars.
Today, Tuesday, they were off again, this time on a very special journey on the jaunting cars up through the Killarney mountains on an ancient road carved through the mountains by a giant glacier during the ice-age. Don't they look happy?
From the left, we have, Gary, Dean , Linda and Barbara, and it looks like Dean is driving?
He was, and he found it very confusing, as he just could not figure out which was the American side of the road, because the road seemed to only have a middle.

A photo break and a lovely picture of the group, sitting on a low wall, with this lovely glacial lake in the background.
At the end of their jaunting car drive, there was a snack break at Lord Brandon's cottage, and here we have Gary and Barbara, posing together under this old stone arch.
The final leg of this amazing journey is in the open boats, which take you down through the lakes of Killarney. What a nice picture of Barbara and Linda in their life jackets.
Back on solid ground once again at Ross castle, on the shores of Lough Laune in Killarney, after this very special journey. This old castle was home to the O'Donoghue family before they were ousted by the forces of Oliver Cromwell.

This is a most pleasant tour ,with a lovely group of people, who are enjoying every minute of their Irish adventure, and tomorrow it goes on, as we make our way to one of my own personal favourite places, the Dingle peninsula.
Make sure to come along again.
