My friends headed off full of excitement for the Gap of Dunloe this morning which left me free to roam the streets of Killarney and enjoy this lovely town. Having time on my hands in a town like this can be a dangerous thing for someone like me as at this point in time the recession has resulted in wonderful shopping opportunities. I have my favourite places to shop and there are many really good shops in Killarney. My own personal favourite is Quills on the main street. The variety of goods on offer here, and the quality of these goods, make this the place to shop. You can get everything from mens and ladies fashion to sweaters , shoes and shirts, woolens , and so much more. There are many items on sale at this point in time , and at bargain prices too. I needed a nice pair of black shoes and ended up with two pairs as i could not resist the bargains on offer. I could have bought a lot more as the goods in the menswear department were really nice, but i am working on my self-control and managed to escape before i went mad altogether. I do like shopping but i am always aware that a bargain is not always something that is cheap....it is something good that is cheap, and there is a great difference. That is why i can recommend Quills without reservation. They do stock quality goods and their prices are as good as you will get. Have a look when you get to Killarney and see for yourself. It will not do any harm if you introduce yourself to Padraic Quill himself while you are there, and tell him that you are a friend of Dave Hogan the tour operator. Padraic is a really nice friendly man and he will look after you. He is what i would call "One of the old stock".
Enjoy your shopping.
I have a shopping problem too, but mine is even more insidious - I use the internet... I don't even have to make the effort to leave home so it's harder to curb my addiction... and now I'm going to see if Quills is online!
