Kinsale with car and driver/personal chauffeur
What a lovely picture of Cam and Susan on the patio at the rear of their hotel in Kinsale when we arrived there this afternoon. We left Killarney this morning and visited the Blarney area before making our way to Kinsale. This was our second last day and the time has just flown. They have been model travelling companions and i will miss them when they leave on Friday morning for home.
This little shuttle train takes you on a tour of this historic town and it is a great way to get around as driving through the extremely narrow streets can be a real problem here. You also get a running commentary as you go which makes it even more interesting. I took the picture above as they were on their way back to the harbour front to disembark and the one below shows them after exiting the train.
Happy at the bar in Jim Edwards tonight where we celebrated our final meal together. Cam and i had wonderful rack of lamb while Susan had a fish meal of Brill. Of course there was all the trimmings with it and we were well satisfied by the time we finished. This was a really great meal and a fitting one after such a nice tour.
Tomorrow we head for Cobh first thing in the morning to visit the heritage centre there. It was from Cobh that the vast majority of emigrants set sail for the USA. Later we will be making our way to Bunratty where they will be staying for their final night in Ireland.
