Cam and Susan sitting on the balcony at the rear of the hotel just a hundred yards from where Cam's grandmother boarded her liner for her voyage to the USA back in the eighteen hundreds. That is one of the harbours tug boats in the background.
The ladies seated at the base of the statues of Annie Moore and her two young brothers, the first three people to register on Ellis Island in 1892.
Cam pictured inside the Cobh heritage centre. This is a wonderful place, and well worth a visit, especially if any of your ancestors left from this port.
A parting photo of the ladies outside their B&B, Bunratty Villa, in Bunratty this afternoon. This is a lovely place to stay and close to Bunratty Castle and within fifteen minutes of Shannon airport for anybody flying out from Shannon. If your destination is the west and south west of Ireland then Shannon is the airport for you.....so easy to get into and out of, and central to all you want to see on the western side of the country.
Our weather looks settled at last and maybe we will have an Indian Summer. I still have free times available in October so get in touch with me if you are thinking about a visit then. October can be a lovely month here. It can be especially nice for those who like things a little less busy. Prices can also be more reasonable so give me a shout.
Dave
