A view of the Clare hills in glorious sunshine.
It has been a while in coming, but at last we are enjoying a wonderful spell of really good weather here in Ireland. We are actually having what for us is a heat wave with temperatures in the eighties. The good news is that it seems set to stay for another while. I am not on tour at the moment so i have been free to relax and really enjoy the sun. I live on the West Coast of Ireland, and close to Galway Bay, and my local beach is only a short drive from my home. The water is really lovely at the moment and our beach has the Blue Flag rating which means out water is clean and safe to swim in. It is also safe to swim in, as there are no dangerous currents in the area, and it has been a busy place for the last few days.
A view of the beach at Traught today. The seaweed makes it look a little untidy but it is clean and harmless. Actually the iodine from the seaweed has great benefits for your health.A different view of the beach, with the Clare hills in the background.A different view again looking towards Galway and the Connemara coastline on the horizon. And our blue flag waving proudly in the sunshine. Again on the horizon you can see Galway city in the distance.
I have been swimming here for the last couple of days and it has been fantastic. Remember, we do have the Gulf stream on our west coast, so our waters here are really nice, never too warm, and always refreshing.
If you are thinking of coming to Ireland i do have availability in August. Just send me a message and i will see what i can do for you.
