Chauffeurdriven tours of Killarney and the Gap of Dunloe

Today the main item was the unmissable tour of the Gap of Dunloe. This is a journey best enjoyed by taking the tour in the horse drawn buggies, and then the boats down through the lakes and back into Killarney. Some people may try to drive through the Gap in their own car, and this i do  not recommend. It is dangerous, not only to yourself, but also to the horse drawn buggies, and the passengers in the buggies. You are also going to miss a wonderful boat ride down through Killarney's lovely lakes, and some wonderful opportunities to take fantastic photos of the mountains surrounding you as you make this journey. You can book this trip in the offices of Dero's tours in the main street in Killarney.
In the top picture you can see one of the buggies making its way up the narrow road towards the Gap at the top. This mountain pass was carved through the mountains by a giant glacier during the ice age.

Here we have Carolyn, jacketed up, and ready for the boat journey.

The boat ride ends at the historic Ross Castle just outside Killarney town. Gavin took this picture as their boat approached the landing area at the castle.

These large motor launches take people on the lake for shorter trips around the islands.

Ashore at last after a great adventure, Carolyn and Gavin at Ross castle.

I took this picture in the lobby at the Killarney Plaza hotel where they are staying.

These kids are entertaining the tourists with some traditional Irish music. A nice little Summer job for these budding entrepreneurs. Well done guys.
