Chauffeurdriven vacations in Ireland with Dovechauffeurdrive and Dave Hogan

More for you to see, and visit, in Ireland

One of the many ancient ruined monasteries in this Land of Saints and Scholars. This one was a Franciscan monastery, and is located at the mouth of the Eske river at the harbour in Donegal town.

The interior of the magnificent St Patrick's Catholic Cathedral in Armagh
I was most fortunate to visit here last Sunday for mass, which was celebrated by Cardinal Sean Brady, who is the present Primate of the Catholic church in the whole of Ireland.
Sadly, the Cardinal has tendered his request for resignation to Pope Francis, just this week. I, am sure that he deserves a break after many years of service during extremely difficult times. I personally would like to wish him well in his retirement, when the time arrives, and thank him sincerely for being so gracious to myself and my visitors.

Yes, that is me with the Cardinal outside the Cathedral after the mass. He was most gracious and friendly and welcomed me to his church. It was the highlight for me of our visit to Northern Ireland during the past week. Thank you Cardinal.
(Oh.....by the way, that is me on the right.)

The large stone which marks the grave of our patron saint, St Patrick, in the grounds of St Patrick's church in Downpatrick in county Down in Northern Ireland. The visit here was also very special. What a day this was. From a mass celebrated by the present leader of our church in Ireland, to the graveside of the man who introduced Christianity to this very special land, a day i will remember for as long as i live.
