My Ryan group at breakfast this morning.
What better way to start your St Patrick's day than with a great breakfast at the Killarney Plaza Hotel, right in the heart of this great town. My party all look very happy to me. Tim, second from the left, had joined the group at last, after being collected by Anne at Shannon airport early this morning, and what a lovely man he is. Everybody was delighted to see him.
Then we were off to mass in the magnificent Killarney Cathedral, and in the picture above we have from the left, Beth, Becky, Loretta, George and Anne.
In this picture the Ryan's are in the grounds of the Cathedral, standing behind the memorial to the famine victims who were buried on this site.
I thought that this was a nice little touch, the Shamrock on the green light for "Go".
And now to the parade, led by the army carrying our Irish flag.
Everybody loves the pipers, and they were well represented here today.
The St Patrick's day parades are always special for the children ,and there were many different children's groups represented here today from local clubs and schools.

We all thoroughly enjoyed this great little country town parade, which was a credit to Killarney town. The master of ceremonies added greatly to it with his typical Kerry wit, and he gave us all a great laugh with his dry wise cracks.
Well done Killarney.
