If you have Irish ancestry but not much exact evidence of where your relations came from, or when they even left here, i would recommend that you try to find out as much as possible before you come over, and we can take it from there. If you know the county they came from, or better still the town, then i feel that that in itself is enough to make a start, and can make your trip special. Try to get as many names as possible, and the ages they were when they left. Driving through these areas, i always tell people to be aware of their feelings, as you never know, there may be somebody giving you a little poke and welcoming you home. Remember, those mountains are the mountains that they gazed upon, on a fine Summer's day, the rivers that maybe they fished, the roads they may have traveled on.If you know the area they lived in then you will know, that when you walk the streets in the nearest towns, you will be walking the streets that they walked.
They smelled those flowers, and looked after their sheep on the mountains. I have seen people with tears in their eyes because they knew they were home again. Do not despair because you think you do not have enough information. Home is where the heart is, and your heart will tell you that.
