This morning we departed from Killarney, after spending three fun days and nights in that area, and began our journey south into County Cork. Our first destination was the town of Midleton, and the Jameson distillery there. This is a special place, and a world famous distillery. The tour of this distillery is really a worthwhile experience, and one i would highly recommend.

Then it was on to Cove, the famous harbour at the mouth of the river Lee, below Cork city. This was the harbour where the vast majority of our emigrants sailed from on their way to the New World, and the USA. It was also the last port of call for the tragic Titanic.
In this picture above we have Terry and Diane, seated on the base of the statues of Annie Moore and her two young brothers, the first people to register on Ellis Island in 1892.

We later made our way to the town of Kinsale where we were staying tonight, and here we have my happy pair, enjoying the views from the patio of the hotel.
