Scott and family in Gap of Dunloe.

Today my Chicago pals decided to take on the Gap of Dunloe adventure, a journey on the old style horsedrawn jaunting cars on an ancient mountain road, which was carved through the Kerry  mountains by a giant glazier during the ice age. This journey ends when the jaunting cars reach the lakes on the far side of the mountains, where they then board open boats, which ferry them Nancy had to remains behind. Hopefully this will pass quickly and he will be fine to travel again tomorrow when we head for the Gap of Dunloe.
This is me on the left having been photographed without my permission or warning or given time to arrange my hair etc by a sneaky Scott who had somehow managed to get a hold of my camera. The Irish farmer on the right had not been warned either but he seemed to be ok with it. It was only later that i discovered that this farmer was actually Tony, disguised with a new Irish cap on his head.
An early view of the Gap through the mist.

All aboard the jaunting and ready for take off. I give up.
Which is Tony? You tell me.I think that Tony got a reduction when he bought his cap last night,on condition that he would advertise Quill's Woolen Market store in Killarney. It is a great store if you are looking for Woolen anything.Well i would have to admit that he looks well, eventhough i am not sure which one is Tony, but i suppose they both look well, and it is a good photo, eventhough the lake is the best part of it,and the picturewas taken by Scott, who was forced to be the trip photographer as a punishment for taking that earlier picture without my permission.
Having a little stretching session on the lakeside green before boarding the boat. From the left i think we have, Chris, definitely Phylis, could be Tony and is that Scott?
On their way in their open boat, we have Amanda and Chris. I think that the others were in the coffee shop below deck.
The winding road that leads to the Gap at the top of the mountains.
The last leg of this special journey as they approach Ross castle to disembark.
What a great trip, and a great day for my special pals.

Tonight most of my group spent their evening enjoying the fabulous Celtic Steps show in Killarney in the auditorium at the Killarney race course. This is a show worth seeing if you are in Killarney.
From the left here we have, Tony, Phylis, David Rea, one of the two producers, Chris, Amanda, Nancy and Sean Murphy, the other producer, and musical director. Poor Scott and Eric had to miss the show as Eric was still not feeling one hundred percent.
What a great day this was in lovely Killarney.
