Today we made our way to Blarney and the famous Blarney Castle.

Carolyn and Gavin did manage to climb to the top of the castle and to kiss the famous stone. Amazingly, for the rest of the day i might as well have been just a driver as they seemed to know more about Ireland than i did. I think that i may have to go back there soon and kiss the stone again myself to refresh my memory. I should have known better.
The lovely gardens at the Blarney castle do not get the as much attention as they deserve. Make sure that you allow enough time to stroll through these gardens and to enjoy this special.place

Here we have Gavin and Carolyn on the the patio at the rear of our hotel, the Kinsale Carlton, with Oysterhaven Bay in the background. This is a really nice hotel on the outskirts of Kinsale, and is situated in a nice quiet area.

The King James fort, overlooking the harbour, is a massive fortress, and was constructed to protect this strategically vital port for any attack from the sea.
Above we have a full view of harbour entrance.
This great photo of Carolyn ad Gavin was taken high on the hillside overlooking the harbour and the town.

Kinsale is known as the gourmet capitol of Ireland, and  Gavin and Carolyn will be dining there tonight in style. Tomorrow we move on again as we make our way to the harbour town of Cove to visit the wonderful heritage centre there. Then on to Bunratty where they will be enjoying a medieval banquet in the famous castle tomorrow night.
