Touring Ireland with own car and driver/personal chauffeur.
Knock Shrine, and Ballintubber Abbey, on chauffeured tour of the west of Ireland
The old Knock church at knock, and the large Celtic cross which was erected to Commemorate the visit of Pope John Paul 11 in 1979.
The Basilica at Knock which was named the Basilica of Mary, Queen of Ireland by the Pope in 1979 during his visit.
My happy party, inside the Basilica, with the raised altar in the background.

Later we drove from Knock to thee ancient Abbey at Ballintubber near Castlebar in County Mayo. This ancient Abbey dates back to 1216, long before Christopher Columbus sailed to the New World. It has a great history, including being burnt and desecrated by Cromwell, but it survived, and is known as the Abbey which refused to die.
Fr Neil pictured in the cloistered area at the old Abbey.
This was another special day and one which i know we all enjoyed.
