Dovchauffeurdrive Holidays in Ireland with Dave Hogan

Why is my operation unique? Well, first of all, i was born and reared in the West of Ireland and have spent most of my life living and working in this very special part of the country. It is hard not to love our western seaboard. I would not want to live anywhere else. At this time of the year i can hear the birds singing just before the dawn breaks, the newborn lambs bleating in the fields around me, and the sounds of nature are all around me, undisturbed by anything other than the odd tractor as the farmers set about their daily tasks. The air is clear and fresh and it always feels so good to be alive.
I feel like i want to share this with anybody and everybody and i love the feedback i get from the enjoyment it brings to people who have never experienced anything like it. It is different. It revives people and helps them to recover from stresses imposed on them by what they call normality today. It shows us quiet clearly that there is more to life than work and more work and the feeling that we will have to wait until we are old and spent before we can finally find a little peace and comfort.
A tour with me is not about flying all around Ireland trying to cram in as much as you can possibly see in the time available, it is about slowing down and loving where you are at without having your mind racing on to where you are going to be tomorrow.  My tours are planned with your help. You tell me what you think you want to see and i will show you how best we can can cover this, if possible, in a sensible and enjoyable way. I will bring you to the nicest places to stay at, the best places to eat at the best prices, and the best places to shop if you want to shop. When you reach the end of your tour with me, you will be ready to travel home again feeling refreshed and with the feeling that you have to come back again, and many of my customers do exactly that.

This fellow will take you on a tour of the town of Dingle, and what a lovely way to enjoy this great place. You will find him down on the harbour front during the Summer season.

I took this photo on my morning walk close to where i live outside Kinvara on the southern shores of Galway Bay. This is a small inlet off the bay, and famous for its oyster beds. The small boat in the picture would be used mainly for farming the oysters and clams and mussels. The landscape here is very rocky due to all of the rubble that was deposited in this region after the ice age when the ice finally melted and dumped all of these loose stones and boulders. This area is renowned for its stone walls, one of the main methods used to clear the land.

A field close to my home, with these cattle resting and enjoying the lovely cool day. There are a couple of new born calves in the picture, if you can make them out.

I just had to post this picture. I took this in Quinlan's fish and chip restaurant in Killarney the other day, where i was dining with my wife. She was having the tuna and chips, (the far plate), and i was having the battered cod with chips, and mushy peas.(note the peas are all gone). I really do not think that i need to tell you just how delicious this meal was. Make sure to visit this restaurant if you are in Killarney. You will find it in the heart of the town.

A clump of primroses growing on the side of the road as i enjoyed my walk this morning.

The White thorn is in full bloom now, and in my area we get a lot of it.

These ponies were enjoying the fresh morning as i passed by.

If you are planning a visit then maybe i can help. I can refer you to people who have toured with me and who will tell you whatever you need to know about what a tour with me is like.  It will certainly simplify things for you. No need to worry about doing anything other than booking your flight. I do the rest. How much better ca it get than that.

Chauffeur driven tours of the Ring of Kerry and the Dingle peninsula.

Why not have an experienced driver and guide to show you Dingle and the Ring of Kerry.

A misty day on the Dingle peninsula.

It does look a little miserable, but just imagine what it must have been like for the inhabitants of these Beehive Huts hundreds of years ago in the depths of a cold and wet Winter. These circular stone dwellings, were home to those ancient peoples, farmers and fishermen, who  lived in this area. They had no windows, just the main entrance door, and their heat was generated by a fire burning in the centre of the floor. The door would be blocked up of course, but you can be sure, that if the wind was blowing in the wrong direction, there would be plenty of drafts. There were some small vented openings but they must have had to put up with a lot of smoke. No wonder their life expectancy was so short.Even in the early nineteen hundreds the life expectancy here was barely into the forties. These people must have been dead and gone long before that age. This particular area on the Dingle peninsula was the centre for many of these homes, and you can see at least one of what used to be hundreds in the foggy background in this picture. They were amazingly well built and dry as a bone inside.

This lady looks a lot happier as she sits on a rock on the Ring of Kerry. Well after all the sun is shining, and what a difference that makes.

Book a chauffeured day tour.

A tour of the Ring of Kerry and/or  a tour of the Dingle peninsula are musts to me if you really want to see and enjoy rural Ireland. The problem facing many people who visit Ireland is the dread of having to drive on roads that they are not familiar with, or accustomed to driving on. After all, they are on the wrong side of the road to start off. I am finding that an increasing number of people are using my services for single day outings, and many of these people are people who just decide to enjoy the comfort of parking their rental car and using me and my company to take them around the areas they are most afraid of driving themselves. Some of them are on bus tours and just want a break away on their own for a change. Not only does this deal with the discomfort of driving themselves but they have an experienced guide thrown in who can bring them to places that they will never find themselves. They will also cover much more ground in the same amount of time as they are never going to have to bother with using a map to try to figure out where they went wrong.

Write to me if you think you like the idea.

Of course i can help you plan and enjoy a full holiday tailored to whatever time you have available.

We know from the feedback from our clients that we provide the best in planned chauffeur driven vacations. We can put you in touch with happy clients who have already experienced our service and who will tell you all about us. What better way to find the assurance you need when you are planning on employing a company in a foreign land.

A happy farmer walking his two Irish Red Setters on a county Kerry road.As they would say in Kerry "Not a bother at all."

This year is going to be a really busy one here in Ireland. Do not leave your plans on the long finger.

Chauffeur driven/ chauffeur drive vacations/ holiday in west and south west of Ireland

The pillar of rock, known as the Stack, at the Cliffs of Moher on the edge of the Burren in County Clare. Here, thousands of sea birds nest ,and hatch their eggs in  the safest of environments. let me bring you there.

The west and south west coast of Ireland is alive with Dolphins and an ever increasing amount of whales also, especially in the southern regions. On my latest trip to the Aran Islands we really did enjoy the Dolphins.

The islanders of Inishere, the smallest of the Aran islands, at the mouth of Galway Bay, are proud of this magnificent old church ruin, which they themselves excavated from beneath a mountain of sand. This is their local graveyard, and also is the resting place of their saint Kevin who built this church back in the sixth century. I would love to take you here also.

Another group of my American pals at Ashford Castle in Connemara. How can anybody not want to see the beautiful west of Ireland.

Ross Castle, the mighty fortress of the O'Donoghue Clan in Killarney, another of the special places i like to bring my friends on my exciting tours.

One of my favourite places, and another of the areas i always include in my famous tours of the west and south west of Ireland. This is the view at Slea head on the magnificent Dingle Peninsula.

Just a sample of some of the places you can enjoy if you decide that the West of Ireland's magic has grabbed you. It has grabbed me, and i never tire of its beauty.

I will post more lovely pictures soon.

Why not drop me a line and begin the journey of a lifetime. I just may surprise you.
